Writing a post is straight forward enough, like writing an email, but if you haven't done it before ... where do you start? Here of course!

The previous method of subscribing fell away with recent upgrades: it wasn’t working at the end and rather than try to resurrect it, here’s a more common way of keeping up-to-date with a blog.

RSS - Really Simple Syndication: This is the most commonly used method on the internet of keeping up and the only thing you need to do is decide how you want to receive the information.

There are three ways I know of:

• Webrowser: Add the rss link to your bookmarks and then use internet web browser to check the rss links. It looks very snazzy and works very well, but a bit pointless to me when you can bookmark the site nand check anyway.
• RSS Client: These are dedicated rss programs that will check on any number of web pages. Effective, especially if you keep track of a lot of web sites.
• Email Client: This is how I’m keeping tabs at the moment via Outlook 2007. RSS Feeds are built into this version and it’s working well for me.

Make sure ‘CAPS LOCK’ is off on your keyboard.

Any general chatty tech type stuff that’s related to the blog will be put here.  Not everyone is into this type of stuff, but for those that are, it’s vital!

The How Tos section is going to cover a number of topics, such as:

• Write a post
• Images in posts
• Subscribe to RSS using Outlook 2006 or earlier
• Make a post without any of this technical stuff
• Test a post on the web without showing the world
• … and any other questions that may pop up

Question:
It appears the procedure of adding images to the post has been changed.

Using the ‘Add Media’ tool brings up the Gallery (containing a recently uploaded image)and also the Media Library containing the new and previously uploaded images.

Having selected the image I wish to place in the post, clicking on the ‘Insert Post’ box does not produce ;the desired result. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing, as per usual it is a Wordpress blog issue. Recently there was another upgrade to a new and better version, new feature and hey presto, new problem. Here’s a temporary as well as a possible permanent solution:
